Eternal Fame, Glory, and Stuff Like That

Eternal Fame, Glory, and Stuff Like That

Li-Po and me, we have so much in common

I read recently that
the great Chinese poet
Li-Po (Li-Bao)
wrote a thousand poems.

That sounds like a lot
but he lived
a long life
and so it made sense.

I decided
it would be nice to leave
a thousand poems
behind
by the time
my turn to die
rolls around.

Li-Trueman…

Terry-Po…

Terry-Li-Po-Bao-Trueman
whatever,
I gotta go.

I gotta
a-lotta
poems to write.

But if somehow
I come up a tiny bit short
I’m sure that God will say,
Not to worry big guy,
close enough, after all
you type with
two fingers.”

Fame, Glory, and that kind of stuff,
God cares, no really he does.
